Enquiries from buyers

See what buyers send through your listings, sort it, and turn a serious enquiry into a contact and a deal with one press.

This page shows you where buyers' enquiries land, how to work through them and how to turn one into a deal.

How buyers reach you

Buyers can enquire on any of your Active listings:

  • On a listing page, the Enquire About This Listing form asks for Name, Phone, Email (optional) and Message (optional), then Send Enquiry.
  • On the Classifieds feed, each card has an Enquire button.

Name and phone are required, so you always have a number to call back. A listing that isn't Active can't take enquiries.

Each new enquiry also comes to you by email, to the Google address you sign in with. The subject starts "New enquiry" and names the listing.

Buyers can also press WhatsApp to message you directly. Those chats go to your phone and don't appear here. See What buyers see, and what stays private.

Your inbox

Open Enquiries in the menu. You only see enquiries on your own listings. A count beside the menu item shows how many are still new. If you folded the Selling group, a red dot shows on its heading instead.

The list opens on NEW. Switch to READ or ARCHIVED with the buttons at the top. Each row shows the listing, with its number, the buyer's name, phone and email, the start of the message, and when it arrived. Newest come first.

Click a row to see the whole message. From there:

  • Mark Read: you've seen it and will follow up.
  • Archive: you're done with it.
  • Convert to Contact + Deal: see below.

Nothing is sent to the buyer when you use these. Reply by phone, WhatsApp or email yourself.

Turning an enquiry into a deal

Convert to Contact + Deal does three things at once:

  1. Adds the buyer to your contacts as a Buyer.
  2. Opens a deal on that listing at the Inquiry stage, with the buyer's message as the notes.
  3. Moves the enquiry to Archived.

If the buyer's phone or email matches someone already in your contacts, that contact is used instead of a new one. The panel tells you who it matched, for example "Matched to existing contact", so check it really is the same person.

You can convert an enquiry once. Afterwards the panel says "Converted" with a link to your contacts. Carry on from Deals.
