An alert list is a saved search. When new listings match it, you get an email and a note in your account.

Setting one up
- Open My Alert Lists from your account menu, or Alert Subscription in the Profile menu on the public site.
- Press + New Alert List.
- Fill in the form, then press Save.
The form asks for:
- Name: anything that helps you recognise it, for example "Sendayan condos under 500k". This is the only required field.
- Location: a place name. A listing matches when its location contains exactly what you type, so "Sendayan condo" won't match "Bandar Sri Sendayan". Keep it to one place name.
- Looking to: Buy, Rent, or Buy or rent.
- Budget Range (RM): a minimum, a maximum, or both.
- Property Type: pick one or more, such as Factory, Shop Lot or Terrace House. Hold Ctrl (Cmd on a Mac) to pick several. Leave it empty for any type.
- Frequency: Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
Your lists appear in a table with their criteria, frequency and Last Sent date. Use Edit to change one, or Delete, then Confirm Delete, to remove it.
What counts as a match
A listing matches when it went live on MRE2U since the list last ran, is still live, and fits every criterion you set. An agent may save a listing as a draft and publish it later; it counts from the day it went live. A listing that was live before, was taken down and is now back is not sent again. A few things to know:
- A listing with no price matches any budget, so you don't miss "Price on request" ones.
- The location is matched on the words the agent typed, so a very specific term may miss listings worded differently.
- A repost is not a new listing. When an agent posts the same ad again, perhaps at a new price, no new alert goes out.
- Alerts only send properties on offer: for sale (WTS), for a joint venture (WTJV) or for rent (WTL). Wanted ads (WTB and WTR) are never sent. Buy sends the sale and joint-venture offers, Rent sends the rent offers.
When alerts arrive
Alerts are checked once a day, in the morning, Malaysia time. A Daily list can send every morning; Weekly waits at least 7 days between sends, Monthly at least 30.
If nothing new matches, nothing is sent. If several of your lists match on the same morning, they come together in one email from MRE2U Alerts, for example "3 new listings match your alerts". Each listing shows its photo, headline, location, price and whether it's for sale or rent, with a View listing link. Up to 10 show per list; if there are more, the email says how many and links to your Notifications, which list them all. The email's "Manage your alerts" link opens My Alert Lists.
If an email can't be sent one morning, nothing is lost: the same listings are tried again the next morning.
Notifications
Each alert email also shows up on Notifications (New Matching in the Profile menu). Unread ones have a dot, and Notifications in your account menu shows a count. Press an entry to see which lists matched and open each listing by its number. Opening an entry marks it read.
Search Preferences
On My Account, Search Preferences (Interest Area, Budget Range (RM), Property Type) fill in a new alert list for you. They're kept in this browser only, not in your account, so they won't follow you to another device.
