There are two kinds of account: agent and buyer. They're made in different places. A buyer account that signs in with Google can ask to become an agent account later; an agent account can't become a buyer one.
Agents
- On any public page, open Login in the top bar and choose Agent.
- Pick the Google account you want to use for work. Agents always sign in with Google; there's no password option.
- The first time, your agent account is created and you land on My Account.
A new agent account is pending. The page says "Your account is awaiting admin approval. You can still edit your profile below." Every other menu item stays greyed out until MRE2U approves you by hand.
While you wait, fill in your profile: name, job title, agency, registration number, WhatsApp number and photo. They appear on your listings and flyers, so it's worth getting them right. See Your account and public profile.
You aren't emailed when you're approved. Reload My Account or sign in again, and the rest of the menu opens up. You start on the Free plan. From there, Getting started as an agent takes you to your first listing.
If MRE2U withdraws an agent's approval, the account goes back to pending, and every live listing of theirs is unpublished and leaves the public site. Being approved again doesn't bring them back. Publish the ones you still want again from Listings.
Buyers
A buyer account is free and is only needed to save listings and get alerts. Browsing and enquiring work without one.
- Open Login and choose Buyer, then Sign up. Or press the heart on a listing on the home page, the Properties or Classifieds page, an agent's page or a listing page, while signed out.
- Under Create your account, press Continue with Google, or fill in Name, Email, Phone and Password (at least 8 characters) and press Create Account.
Buyer accounts don't need approval. You go straight to My Account, and My Alert Lists, My Saved Listings and Notifications are ready to use.
To sign in later, choose Login, then Buyer.
Forgot your password?
- On the Log in page, press Forgot password?
- Type the email you signed up with and press Send reset link.
- Open the email from MRE2U and press the link. It works once, for one hour.
- Type a new password twice (at least 8 characters) and press Save new password, then log in with it.
The page says "Check your email" whatever you type, so it never shows whether an address has an account. If your account signs in with Google, the email tells you to use Continue with Google instead; it has no password to reset. You can ask for at most 3 links an hour.
To change your password while signed in, use Password on My Account: type your current password, then the new one twice, and press Change password. Any reset link still open stops working.
From buyer to agent
If your buyer account signs in with Google, My Account has Become an agent. Press Ask to become an agent, then Yes, switch it. Your account turns into a pending agent account and waits for approval like any new agent (see above). While it's an agent account, your saved listings, alert lists and notifications are hidden.
A buyer account that signs in with a password can't switch by itself, because agents sign in with Google. Email help@mre2u.com from that address.
One account per email
An email address can hold one account. If an email address already has a buyer account (Google or password), signing in as an agent with it opens the buyer account, not an agent one. Use a different Google account for your agent work.
